Handling payroll true up alongside year end accrued wages

We're in the middle of Q3 and I've run into a question about handling a payroll true up at the same time as an accrued wages adjustment. Our company runs biweekly payroll, and this month we've got one pay period that overlaps into September, so I'm accruing the August portion as usual. At the same time, I've got a payroll true up from mid year bonus payouts and benefit reconciliations that needs to be booked. Now where I'm second guessing myself is if the true up should be folded into the accrued wages entry for August, or treated as a separate liability and expense adjustment?
The bonus portion clearly belongs in this month, but benefits like health insurance adjustments cross into next month. I want to make sure the GL reflects both correctly without doubling up or pushing something into the wrong period
Thanks a bunch in advance

Okay, here's a simpler way to think about it, handle the true-up separately. Just book the bonus part in the current time, and then spread the benefits out over the right months so they match up with what's owed.
