I work from home in a rented place, and I've got a room that I've set up just for my office. I pretty much only use it for work,no personal stuff in there, except for the occasional walk through

I'm curious if anyone else is in the same boat and how you manage things like expenses or tax claims for a home office in a rental. Would appreciate any tips or warnings

Some states might have different rules, so you might want to check your state's tax regulations. but from what I know if you're an employee working from home, currently, W-2 employees in the US cannot deduct home office expenses at the federal level.

I think it would be best to keep track of what you spend on your workspace say your desk, chair, supplies just in case tax laws change or for your own budgeting.

Not gonna hurt to consult with a tax professional for personalized advice based on your specific situation as well
